Initial placement in the Warrior Transition Unit (WTU) is based on ability to provide necessary evaluation for treatment and the available capacity within and proximity to the Soldier’s duty station (COMPO1) or home (RC). Transfer to another WTU or to a Community Care Unit (CCU) is assessed on a case by case basis and is dependent on the Soldier’s medical needs, Family location, and support needs by the Triad of Leadership, with the consensus of the Soldier’s Triad of Care.
All Soldier transfers must be requested via the Patient Movement Request (PMR) module in the Transportation Command (TRANSCOM) Regulating and Command & Control Evacuation System (TRAC2ES) and managed, coordinated, and verified by the Soldier Transfer and Regulating Tracking Center (STARTC).
For detailed procedural guidance on the transfer of military personnel to/from a WTU/CCU, refer to the Army Regulation 40-58, Warrior Care and Transition Program.
