Medical records are the property of U.S. Government and cannot be removed from the maintenance facilities without authorization. Everyone over the age of 10, to include Soldiers in uniform, must show identification card when requesting services relating to medical records.

No adults can access other adults’ medical records without proper authorization and identification cards issued by the Department of Defense or valid DEERS enrollment. Soldiers, regardless of age, and children over 18 are considered adults.

There are 8 major medical records maintenance facilities located within fort Hood proper. They are:

We recommend you maintain medical records at your PRIME enrollment sites. Non-enrollees’ records are maintained at the Outpatient Records, main hospital.

The Outpatient Records at the main hospital is open 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The section is closed on weekends and Federal holidays. Please contact individual clinics listed above for the specific hours of operation.

Inactive records are retired to long term maintenance facility after two full years. However, if you are still residing in this area and would like to have your records held back, please contact records personnel where you maintain records.

The OMRB verifies eligibility requirements for treatment at Military Treatment Facilities (MTF). When needed, OMRB will issue an eligibility statement in lieu of non-availability of identification card or questionable DEERS enrollment.
