Army Community Service

Army Community Service (ACS) is a human services organization composed of civilian personnel and an unpaid staff of dedicated volunteers.

Objective:

To assist commanders in maintaining readiness of individuals, families and communities within America's Army by developing, coordinating and delivering services which promote self-reliance, resiliency and stability during war and peace.

Eligibility:

All active duty, U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard service members on active duty exceeding 30 days, civilians, retirees and family members are eligible to use the services offered by ACS.

ACS is Accredited by the Department of Defense.

Military Family Appreciation Night, "Military Families Are Out Of This World"
Army Community Services' invites you to their annual Military Family Appreciation Night on November 17, 5 - 7 p.m. at the Regimental Community Center. Come out and enjoy a FREE dinner, music and cool door prizes! This year's theme is Military Families Are Out Of This World! This is a FREE event. RSVP is required NLT November 7. Financial Readiness Program Classes

Money Management Refresher Course
Army Community Services’ Financial Readiness Program will host a Money Management Refresher Course every first Tuesday of the month, 1 – 4 p.m. in the Soldier Support Center, Room 125. This course provides participants with a practical approach to financial management. Course topics will include money management, budgeting, consumer awareness and much more! This is a FREE program. Money & Moving for Permanent Change of Station (PCS)
Army Community Services’ Financial Readiness Program will host a Money & Moving seminar every first Tuesday of the month, 9 - 11 a.m. in the Soldier Support Center, Room 125. Seminar topics will include financial entitlements and costs associated with planning for an initial permanent change of station move. This is a FREE program and Mandatory for E4 and below. AER
Army Community Services' Financial Readiness Program is calling for the Fort Lee Community's help. Join us in contributing to the Army Relief Emergency (AER) program. AER helps provide emergency financial needs for food, rent, funeral expenses, emergency medical expenses and more! Your contributions help Active Duty Soldiers (Single & Married) and their dependents, Retirees (dependents) and Surviving Spouses or orphans of Soldiers who died while on Active Duty or after they retired.  Every donation helps. Financial Readiness FREE Community Classes
Army Community Services’ Financial Readiness Program will host free classes throughout the month. Join us on November 10, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. as we discuss “Surviving the Holidays - Financially.” Finally on November 22, we will wrap up our year of free community classes with our last class, "Developing a Spending Plan." Class will be held 1 - 3 p.m. in the Army Community Services Building (9023). All classes are FREE and open to the Fort Lee Community. For more details, call (804) 734-6388.


Family Advocacy Program

Anger Management & Stress Management Classes
Army Community Services' Family Advocacy Program hosts FREE monthly Anger Management & Stress Management classes to the Fort Lee community. Anger Management is a one session class that provides attendees with the necessary skills to help evaluate, understand and control their anger. Classes are held 12 - 1 p.m. every first Tuesday of the month. Stress Management is a one session class that helps attendees identify stressors and symptoms of stress, as well as, learn how to select and implement skills to overcome various stressors. Classes are held 12 -1 p.m. every third Tuesday of the month. Participants who complete attendance to a Stress or Anger Management class will receive free admission to one Yoga fitness class held at MacLaughlin Fitness Center. Army Family Action Plan Program

2016 AFAP Conference Closing Ceremony
The ACS Army Family Action Plan Program is hosting its annual conference October 18 - 20. A special closing ceremony will take place on October 19, 4 - 5:30 p.m. inside the Memorial Chapel Sanctuary. Come out and hear how your community AFAP delegates have been working diligently to address the issues that matter to YOU! Topics will vary; housing, employment, health care, youth services & more.
