345th Training Schools

The 345 Training Squadron is made up of the Services and Transportation schoolhouses. The Services Schoolhouse is made up of the Services Apprentice Course (AFSC 3M031), Fitness Specialist Course (Resident), Fitness Specialist Course (Mobile), Food Service Shift Leader Course, and Activity Managers Course. The Transportation Schoolhouse is made up of the Traffic Management Apprentice Course (AFSC 2T031), Air Transportation Apprentice Course (AFSC 2T231), and Hazardous Materials Courses (HazMat Preparer and HazMat Airlift Inspector).

This is a mobile version of the Fitness Specialist Course (Resident) and is taught at various locations worldwide. This course provides training on the Air Force Fitness and Sports Program, Wellness, Safety, Nutrition, Human Physiology, Exercise Application, Fitness Profile, Fitness Program Development, and Customer Service. The method of instruction is group paced, consisting of lecture, discussion, and demonstration and performance.
Food Service Shift Leader Course (Mobile) DSN 539-7700/7701/7702
This course trains personnel in the duties and responsibilities of a Services Shift Leader in the dining facility. The course provides the career field with a means to train rotation personnel, in any rank, for proper shift operations. The course consists of Food Service Operations, Shift Operations, Shift Leader Principles, Menu Planning, Accounting, and Automated Subsistence and Serving Line Techniques. The target audience is personnel currently assigned to the dining facility. This online course provides training for Services Managers at the activity level. Managers are trained in all Services Management course knowledge and skills needed to perform their jobs to include: Air Force Occupational Safety and Health (AFOSH), Readiness, Management Information Systems, Program Development, Strategic Capital Improvement Program, Financial Management, Contracts, Administrative Awareness, Personnel Administration, Staff Development, and Protection of Assets.
Advance Culinary Skills Course (Army Course) Building 4200

This course provides training for Air Force personnel to perform duties as Enlisted Aide, AFSC 8A200. Training includes Introduction to Buffet, Preparing and Presenting Vegetables, Preparing Sauces, Meat Fabrication, Preparing Salads, Starch Cookery, Plate Design, Basic Menu Planning, Preparing and Presenting Tarts, Restaurant Service, Table Side Cooking, Nutritional Menu Planning, Preparing and Presenting Dinner for Two, Planning and Preparing meals, Effectively Purchasing Subsistence, hors D'oeuvres and Canapés, Advanced Baking Skills, Preparing and Presenting Desserts, Wines, Preparing and Presenting a Three-Course Meal, and Introduction to Ice Carving.
Course is designed for service members from all U.S. military branches, to include National Guard and Reserve Component, in grade E-5 and above in food service-related specialties primarily the Enlisted Aides (8A200) but also available for Services personnel who possess or show potential to cultivate higher level cooking skills; member of allied services who meet equivalent qualifications of above; others by waiver.

Provides training for planning, arranging, and procuring air, rail, motor carrier, and bus transportation service for DoD military and civilian personnel and dependents, including shipment and storage of personal property, house trailers, and privately owned vehicles; classifying, documenting, and arranging for shipment of government-sponsored cargo by military air and motor vehicle and by commercial air, rail, express, motor carrier, and parcel post. Provides instruction in operating material handling equipment; procedures for receiving inbound shipments; performing packing and crating procedures; preservation of items; custom requirements; freight terminal operations; saw operations and heat sealing; deployment operations; data automation; security and safety. Students learn to utilize the EDS and Cargo Movements Operations System (CMOS) computer systems.

Training includes introduction to transportation, originating cargo operations, cargo loading/terminating cargo operations, hand held terminals, passenger service center functions, final passenger processing, and Cargo Movements Operations System (CMOS) troop deployments.
Hazardous Materials Preparer (Initial) Course: Building 1540 (2nd floor)

Provides training for selected DoD military and civilian personnel to prepare hazardous material shipments for transport via military air, commercial air, rail, motor, and water modes. Also provides packaging requirements and procedures for marking, labeling, placarding, and compatibility requirements. This course meets the formal training requirement for preparers of hazardous materials according to AFMAN 24-204(IP) and meets the provisions stated in the Hazardous Materials Training Working Group common core curriculum. Authorizes personnel to certify the shipper’s certification on government bills of lading and provides training to complete and certify legally binding certification documents (such as, shipper's declaration for dangerous goods, and shipper's certification for military air) for shipments of hazardous materials according to DoD, commercial, and military publications.

The scope of training focuses on inspection of hazardous material shipments and accompanying documentation prior to acceptance into the military airlift system. This course meets the formal training requirements for inspectors of hazardous material IAW AFMAN 24-204(IP). This training does not authorize personnel to sign legally binding Shippers Declaration for Dangerous Goods.
Hazardous Materials Preparer (Refresher) Course Online DSN 1586/1583/1559
This online course provides refresher training for selected DoD military and civilian personnel to prepare and certify hazardous materials for transportation via modes of military air, international commercial air, public highway, rail and vessel (water). This course meets the systematic training requirements for hazardous materials preparers IAW AFMAN 24-204(IP), 49 CFR, IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, and IMDG Code. Personnel may sign a legally binding document such as a Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods, DD Form 836, or other such document when appointed by the Installation Commander (or designated representative). The course is self-paced and is based on 40 hours of instruction.
Hazardous Materials Airlift Inspector (Refresher) Course: Online DSN 539-7672
This online course provides refresher training for selected DoD military and civilian personnel to INSPECT hazardous material shipments for transport via military air and commercial air. Personnel enrolled will be trained on knowledge and skills involved in inspecting hazardous material shipments and accompanying documentation according to Department of Transportation (DOT), commercial, and military regulations prior to acceptance into the airlift system. This course meets the formal training requirement for inspectors of hazardous materials according to AFMAN 24-204(IP). Training does not authorize personnel to certify the shipper’s certification on Government Bills of Lading (GBL) or to complete and certify legally binding certification documents (i.e., Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods, and shipper's certification for military air) for shipments of hazardous materials. This course is self-paced and is based on 40 hours of instruction.

Airdrop Load Inspector Certification (ALIC) Course Building 6022

Qualifies and provides certification for personnel whose duties as airdrop supervisors or aircraft loadmasters require that they perform final joint airdrop inspections on equipment and supply loads to be airdropped from aircraft. This course is taught at the Army's Quartermaster Center & School at Fort Lee, VA.
Airdrop Specialist Course (Phase 1) Building 6022

The course is designed to train personnel on aerial delivery techniques and provide them with knowledge needed to support worldwide airdrop operations. Students will be trained on cargo parachute packing; Container Delivery Systems, container rigging; placement of equipment and supplies on airdrop platforms and appropriate rigging techniques; cargo load extraction methods; airdrop inspection requirements (does not certify-you must attend the L5AZA1A251 0F5A Airdrop Load Inspector Certification Course to be certified); airdrop zone recovery actions IAW current directives; Joint Precision Airdrop Systems (JPADS training).
