The Behavioral Science Group

The NCIS Behavioral Science Group (BSG) is comprised of licensed psychologists with specialized training and experience in law enforcement psychology and national security.  The BSG supports the NCIS Headquarters and Field Offices on a worldwide basis, providing consultations to operations, investigations and related projects and matters across the NCIS core mission areas and directorates.

BSG consultations provide insight into relevant behavior, optimizing criminal, counterintelligence and counterterrorism investigations and operations and complimenting other resources such as analytical and technical expertise.  The BSG also provides training in support of the strategic goals, mission requirements and unique assignments of the NCIS personnel.

In addition, the BSG collaborates with the larger community of law enforcement and intelligence agencies with similarly dedicated missions, providing case consultations, training and briefings regarding behavioral science support to law enforcement and national security.
