Description

This continuous learning module describes the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and explains the benefits of the ISO 9000 Quality Management System Standard as well as lessons learned regarding its implementation and use.

Objectives

Be able to describe the structure and intent of the ISO 9000 standard including its core standards, basic management principles and clauses; outline the role of the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) in ISO 9000 implementation and deployment; and identify related or complementary quality management systems in addition to ISO 9000.

Target Attendees

This module is primarily intended for GS-9 to GM-15 personnel in the PQM and ENG career fields. It is of particular value to those personnel actively engaged in shop floor activities in contractor industrial facilities, depots, logistics centers and shipyards.
