Defense Acquisition University is accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education.
“Accreditation is a status granted to an institution that meets or exceeds the stated criteria of educational quality. The purposes of accreditation are to assess and enhance the educational quality of an institution, to assure consistency in institutional operations, to promote institutional improvement, and to provide for public accountability.”
- excerpt from the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training (ACCET) standards handbook
DAU selected the Council on Occupational Education (COE) as its accrediting body because the standards and criteria established by COE correspond with the university’s training certification mission and the broader view of learning and development. DAU was first awarded accreditation in 2003 and was most recently reaffirmed in 2014. |
