U.S. Army Transportation Corps - Fort Lee, Virginia

The Transportation Corps is a Force Sustainment branch of the U.S. Army headquartered at Fort Lee, Virginia, and is responsible for the movement of personnel and materiel by truck, rail, air, and sea. The Transportation Corps provides a full spectrum of transportation capabilities at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels of war.

The Transportation School trains Soldiers how to operate and maintain Army tactical trucks, material handling equipment and watercraft. The school trains Transportation Operations, Traffic Management, Convoy Operations, Cargo Transfer, Cargo Documentation, Movement Control, Operation of Heavy Material Handling Equipment, Sailing and Maintenance of Army Vessels, and Unloading Aircraft, Ships, Railcars and Trucks.

Transportation Corps Honors winners, during Transportation week 27-29 July 2016

COL(R) James E. Veditz and CW5(R) Michael J. Wichterman were Inducted to the Regimental Hall of Fame during the Transportation Corps Regimental week.

The 25th CAB transported Soldiers from 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division and 9th Infantry Brigade, 6th Division Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) for training at the Pohakuloa Training Area, Hawaii.

The FY16 National Defense Authorization Act provides our military force with a modernized retirement plan built for retirement savings. Beginning in 2018, our service members can gain automatic and matching Thrift Savings Plan contributions as well as mid-career compensation incentives plus a monthly annuity for life. All service members under the current system are grandfathered into today's retirement system.

599th Offloads Apaches, Stows Black Hawks

PEARL HARBOR — The 599th Transportation Brigade, headquartered at Wheeler Army Airfield, loaded out elements of the 25th Combat Aviation Bde. and III Marine Expeditionary Force onto the USNS Maj. Stephen W. Pless, here, Jan. 5-6, in support of Pacific Pathways 2016 exercises. To accomplish the move, the 599th teamed up with other transportation professionals from Fleet Logistics Center Pearl Harbor; Military Sealift Command; a Navy cargo handling battalion; a seven-person deployment and distribution management team (DDMT) from the 836th Trans. Bn. headquarters and Guam Detachment; and a representative from the 837th Trans. Bn. headquartered at Busan, South Korea. Command Deployment Discipline Program Handbook (CAC required)

The Center for Army Lessons Learned has published CALL Handbook 15-01: Command Deployment Discipline Program. It is a tool for commanders to enhance unit deployment readiness. It is a combination of doctrinal and regulatory tasks that address Army standards, fundamentally focused on equipment movement and associated tasks from division to company level, to include installation tasks. The handbook can only be accessed online digitally via Common Access Card at present. This page will be updated when hard copies are available.
