Take Action

Call 911 to report crimes in progress, violence incidents, or specific threats of imminent violence.

Call 804-734-7400 to contact the Military Police in the event of a fire, bomb threat, or report non-emergency related workplace violence incidents such as disruptive, threatening, or violent behavior.

Garrison Commander's Stance

The Garrison Commander does not tolerate disruptive, threatening, or violent behavior in the workplace. All reports of incidents will be taken seriously, investigated, and dealt with appropriately.

If an individual makes threats of physical harm toward you, others or themselves; has a weapon; or behaves in a manner that causes you to fear for your own or another’s safety, call the Military Police.

Download the Fort Lee brochure that contains indicators of problem behaviors or attitudes; descriptions of disruptive, threatening, or violent behavior; and emergency telephone numbers.

Everyone's Duty to Report

All personnel who work on Fort Lee have a duty to report behavioral changes, violent speech, or threats so that appropriate action may be taken. Normally, reports will be made to the chain of command or supervisory channels. However, reports may be made to higher level commanders, senior supervisors, the Military Police, Inspector General, Staff Judge Advocate, or other Fort Lee supported agencies, if necessary.

IMCOM’s Workplace Violence Prevention and Response Guide contains information on various agency responsibilities, tips on identifying potentially violent situations, and available resources.

Important Reminder

Supervisors must collect the CAC cards of contracted and civilian employees upon separation or retirement from employment. Supervisors should then turn the cards into the ID card section at the Soldier Support Center.

Training

The Department of Defense offers online training for supervisors and employees:

The Fort Lee Provost Marshal Office (PMO) offers prevention of workplace violence classroom training for supervisors and surveys of a building’s security upon request. To schedule training or request a survey, contact the Military Police desk at (804) 734-7400.
