AFCEA-GMU Symposium "Critical Issues in C4I" to be held at GMU Fairfax Campus 24-25 May 2011
AFCEA and the GMU C4I Center are jointly sponsoring our 4th annual conference with the goal of bringing academia, industry and government together to consider current critical issues in C4I technology and systems R&D. We believe this is in the US national interest and that of our international coalition partners. The conference will focus on a selected set of hot topics. We seek a strong, impactful collection of papers. These papers could have been presented elsewhere but they must address current, cutting-edge issues in a compelling manner. Our program committee has been recruited based on their involvement at that cutting edge.
Topics
Cloud Computing in C4I Systems, including
High-assurance public clouds for C4I
Clouds with integrated sensors
Cloud computing in tactical systems
Network security, including
Inherently secure network architecture
Security at the edge: mobile/wireless security
Securing dispersed C4I systems
Military Use of Commercial IT, including
Commercial approaches to Defense software development
IT supply chain security
COTS products in fielded military systems

Papers can be uploaded to http://c4i.gmu.edu/symposium_papers
Selected papers will be posted on our website and also become candidates for special issues of journals. (Some of the best papers from past symposia have been selected for the International Journal of Command and Control and the Journal of Defense Modeling and Simulation.)
Potential authors also may submit an abstract or double-spaced draft for Program Committee comment/recommendations, via the upload site
