OB/GYN — Infertility

couple receiving Infertility counseling

Infertility evaluation can be indicated when a couple have been unable to get pregnant after one year of living in the same house with intercourse three times a week.

If an evaluation is desired, obtain a consult from your Primary Care Provider (PCM). Have your PCM put your cell phone number in the consult. Average wait time for an appointment is two to three weeks. Both members of the couple (if both are eligible for care at a military facility) will be scheduled an appointment with in the Women's Health Center.

Couples who need in vitro fertilization will also start testing in the Women's Health Clinic prior to going to the military Medical Center in San Antonio.

Both men and woman can improve fertility by avoiding tobacco, alcohol, caffeine, body building supplements, many herbals, junk food and diet pills. Exercise and weight loss for men and women who are overweight will also improve fertility.
