CAPT Jim Shannon (PEO IWS 7), program manager, Future Combat Systems Open Architecture will chair a panel discussion on Naval Open Architecture at the 4th Annual Acquisition Research Symposium, held May 16-17, 2007 in Monterey, CA. More information on the event can be found here.

On Wednesday, April 18, 2007, CAPT Jim Shannon (PEO IWS 7), program  manager, Future Combat Systems Open Architecture, will be speaking at  the 8th Annual Science & Engineering Technology Conference / DoD  Tech Expo at the Charleston Convention Center in North Charleston, SC.  The topic covered will be "the Acquisition Perspective on Development of  Naval Open Architectures." On Wednesday, March 14, 2007, Mr. Nick Guertin (PEO IWS 7B), Director, Open Architecture, spoke about the Open Architecture and its parallels with Open Source at a DOD open technology conference, "Open Technology: Realizing the Vision" sponsored by the Association for Enterprise Integration (AFEI). Both Mr. Guertin's presentation and those publicly available conference presentations are available on the Web.
