Through Darnall's integrated system of health, you will receive the finest health care available. We are part of TRICARE, the military's health plan. Our patients are soldiers, their family members, and retirees. In addition to the hospital, we have a system of health clinics.

Upon your arrival at Fort Hood, you should have processed through the TRICARE booth at the Soldier Service Center. This transferred your TRICARE Prime enrollment from your last duty station to Fort Hood. You will receive your health care at a unit-designated health clinic or a Troop Medical Clinic. Health care is provided free to all service members. When care cannot be provided at Fort Hood, you can be referred to other military treatment facilities, and in some emergency situations, to civilian medical centers.
It is part of our mission to ensure that you remain healthy and ready to deploy. You can help us do that by making sure your DEERS information is up to date. Whenever you marry, become a parent, divorce or move, your benefits are affected. It is very important that service members update information in the DEERS database. DEERS determines your eligibility for health care, among other benefits. If information is not current when you seek health care, you may be responsible for some of the cost. You can update DEERS information at the ID card section in the Soldier Service Center.
To receive health care in one of our clinics or at Darnall Medical Center, your family members must either enroll in TRICARE Prime or update current enrollment.
Additionally, your information must be current in the hospital's Composite Health Care System database. This is your record of health care. Please update information when you call for appointments through the Patient Appointment System, 254-288-8888.

Integrated Disability Evaluation System
Soldiers can be retired or separated if it is found that they are unfit to perform their military duties because of physical disability.
Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) Outreach Attorney Office

Soldiers are not required to complete a separation physical when they are ending time in service, but they may schedule one if they desire; however a retirement physical examination is mandatory.

Safety Campaign
