Mission

The Fort Hood Warrior Transition Unit provides command and control, primary care and case management for Soldiers in transition to establish conditions for healing and to promote the timely return to the force or transition to continue serving the Nation as a Veteran in their community.

Overview

The Army is transforming warrior care...

through a commitment to wounded, ill, and injured Soldiers, at home and in battle.

The Warrior Transition Unit provides command and control, primary care, and case management for warriors who have suffered injury or illness while serving as a member of the U.S. Army. We ensure the each Service Member receives the appropriate medical care and administrative processing that is needed to return to duty. Return to their units or their community and their Families in a timely manner and with respect.

Wounded Soldiers and Family Hotline – 1 (800) 984-8523

The Army Wounded Soldier and Family Hotline provides wounded and injured Soldiers and their family members another way to resolve medical issues. The hotline provides an information channel for Soldiers' medical-related issues to go directly to senior Army leadership and is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Wounded Warrior Program (AW2)

The U.S. Army Wounded Warrior Program – AW2 – embodies the Warrior Ethos we will never leave a fallen comrade. AW2s personalized recovery services for severely wounded Soldiers are not limited by geography or physical location and are not constrained by recovery or rehabilitation timelines.
