In accordance with AR 27-3, the White Sands Missile Range Staff Judge Advocate Office provides no-cost legal assistance to active duty soldiers, military retirees, and their dependants. Appointments with the legal assistance attorney are available Monday through Friday from 0800-1100 hours by calling (575)678-1263.

The Legal Assistance office also provides walk-in notary services and power-of-attorneys. These services are provided Monday through Friday from 0730-1530 hours. Notary services are provided to federal civilian employees as well.

The legal assistance attorney can prepare wills, living wills, power-of attorneys, and marital separation agreements. He can also counsel on legal issues such as: bankruptcy, consumer issues, debt collectors, divorce, immigration, military laws and regulations, probate, and real estate.

The Legal Assistance office also produces newspaper articles for the Missile Ranger, the White Sands Missile Range newspaper, preventive law articles, and a Soldier´s Handbook, which provides beneficial legal information to incoming soldiers and their families.
