The Remote Sensing Physics Branch, Code 7220, conducts a broad range of research related to remote sensing of the atmosphere and surface. The major focus areas include:

  • Passive microwave remote sensing of the ocean surface
  • Aerosol measurements and modeling of the marine boundary layer
  • Middle atmosphere composition measurements
  • Upper troposphere and lower stratosphere aerosols and pollution
  • Assimilation of middle atmosphere measurements in global weather/climate models
