APPOINTMENTS REQUIRED FOR CAC/ID Cards-DEERS.
Wait times for walk-in service may exceed two (2) or more hours.
ID Cards may be renewed 90 days prior to the expiration date.

Online Appointments can be made for Family Members, Retirees, DOD
contractors/civilians (CAC); and Disabled Veterans. Appointments are not
available for Soldiers at the Copeland Center.
Soldiers are serviced at their Brigade or the Military Processing Center (MPC) located in Bldg 130.
Soldiers serviced at the MPC may make an appointment at this website by selecting the Military
Personnel Center "Select" button.
Appointments/Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance to be
processed. *An appointment must be made for each
individual being serviced.*
REQUIRED: SPONSOR MUST BE PRESENT FOR ALL TRANSACTIONS OR (**EXCEPTION BELOW**) DEPENDENT
MUST HAVE A VERIFIED SPONSORED-SIGNED DD FORM 1172-2 (APPLICATION FOR ID CARDS/DEERS ENROLLMENT,) OR A
CURRENT AND VALID GENERAL OR SPECIAL POWER OF ATTORNEY. (SPECIAL POWER OF ATTORNEY MUST
STATE ID CARDS/DEERS ENROLLMENTS.)
**NOTE: FOR INITIAL ENROLLENTS IN DEERS, THE SPONSOR MUST BE PRESENT, OR A CURRENT AND VALID GENERAL OR
SPECIAL POWER OF ATTORNEY MUST BE PRESENTED WITH ALL OTHER REQUIRED DOCUMENTS. (THE SPECIAL POWER OF ATTORNEY MUST
STATE "ID CARDS/DEERS ENROLLMENTS").
Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12 and Directive-Type Memorandum (DTM)
08-003 require TWO (2) valid (Not Expired) forms of Identification to process
ID cards for all adults.
Children between the ages of 10-20 years of age require one (1) form of valid ID. Please
ensure the name on your identification presented is the same on all documents and matches
what is in your DEERS record.
For ALL lost or stolen ID Cards a Fort Hood Form 7006 must accompany your two (2) forms
of (valid, not expired) IDs before replacement. The form can be obtained by clicking this link:
FH Form 7006. For lost CACs, your Security Managers must SIGN the form prior
to receiving the replacement CAC. Security Managers must have a current signature card (DD Form 577)
on file at the Copeland Center's ID Card Office.
Removal of SSNs from DOD ID Cards
Social Security Numbers (SSN) will no longer be printed on ID cards due to security concerns. A DoD
ID Number will be utilized instead of the SSN. This change will occur when the cardholder's
expired card is renewed. We cannot process new ID cards simply to remove the SSN.
Hours of Operation:
Monday - Friday: 7:30am to 3:00pm.
Closed on all Weekends and Federal Holidays, training holidays associated the the 4th of July,
the Friday after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.
Customers will not be able to sign-in after 3:00pm.
During the lunch hours of 11:00am to 1:00pm, extended wait times will occur due to
employee rotational lunch break.
