The Public Affairs office serves as the primary point of contact for those who may be interested in learning more about Fort Meade. This public information mission enables PAO personnel to work closely with local, regional, and national media representatives, to "tell the Fort Meade story."

To receive notices regarding the operational status of Fort Meade, text the message "follow ftmeadealert" (without quotation marks) to 40404. Once registered, users will automatically receive a text message whenever there is a change to the operating schedule. The text is sent through Twitter, but doesn't require users to be registered Twitter users. Standard text messaging rates apply to anyone receiving text alerts. Command Information
is the internal dissemination of news and information to better serve the needs and interests of Fort Meade's military. Command Information products include the SoundOff newspaper, this website and Fort Meade's growing emerging and social media presences. Community Relations
partners with non-governmental organizations, civic agencies and other federal, state and local governments to provide services and opportunities that enhance the lives of those who live, work, and learn at Fort George G. Meade. Upon request, the office may conduct tours and coordinate participation at local community events. For more information call 301-677-1436.
Media Relations works with external media organizations to "tell Fort Meade's story" through television and radio stations, newspapers and blogs. All media inquiries and concerns about public information should be referred to Media Relations at 301-677-5592.
