The Department of Defense

(DoD) represents over 2 million active duty and reserve servicemembers in three military departments—Army, Navy and Air Force. As part of its Social Compact with servicemembers and their families to care for their quality of life, DoD provides personal financial management education and training to prepare them for their changing financial needs. The Financial Readiness Campaign in support of the Social Compact encourages servicemembers and their families to seek financial education and counseling before they find themselves in financial difficulty. Through partnerships with over 26 Federal Agencies and nonprofit institutions dedicated to improving the financial acumen of the American public, the Department of Defense is providing increased awareness, education and counseling opportunities to improve the quality of life of servicemembers and their families.
