Welcome

The WRAIR Entomology Branch conducts basic and applied research, field testing, and product development activities to reduce the risk of vector-borne diseases to DoD personnel and to support global health.
The WRAIR mission includes many research programs aimed at developing tools and measures for Force Health Protection against vector-borne diseases. Among these diseases, malaria and leishmaniasis, transmitted by mosquitoes and sand flies respectively, are currently the two most significant vector-borne diseases affecting US military personnel throughout the world.
