WRNMMC’s primary mission is the readiness and care of the Uniformed Services and their families.

WRNMMC is a tri-service, multi-specialty graduate medical education training facility where nursing personnel serve in a range of ambulatory, inpatient and administrative settings.

Nurses from all services, with the support of civil service and contract nurses, answer the call of duty with dedication and provide hope and comfort to those in need.

COL Ray C. Antoine's Biography

The Center for Nursing Excellence provides professional development from novice to expert nurse. Its mission is aligned with the priorities of the Navy Nurse Corps:

• Establish clinical proficiency to sustain readiness
• Align education programs to meet future mission requirements
• Orient new nurse graduates and registered nurses who have minimal clinical experience to the profession of nursing and military medicine
  

Nursing Orientation
This program includes both a classroom RN Orientation – a review of policies, procedures and technical skills.

Preceptor Development Program
One day educational program to facilitate the nurse's role transition from staff nurse to preceptor.

Clinical Site Coordinator
The Clinical site Coordinator at WRNMMC is managed through The Center for Nursing Excellence. All requests for nursing student placements are made by contacting the Coordinator 301-295-4611.

Professional Development
Clinical Nurse Specialists coordinate and provide training in such areas as critical care, Dysrhythmia, and fetal monitoring.

• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
