Introduction

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), 5 United States Code (USC) 552, allows you to seek access to Executive Branch agency records, such as those held by the Department of the Navy. Secretary of the Navy Instruction 5720.42F, Department of the Navy Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Program, governs this program and is codified at 32 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), part 701.

How do I request information from WRNMMC under FOIA?

Send a written request as follows:

  1. Describe the records/information desired.
  2. State your willingness to pay reasonable processing fee or justify why the fee should be waived.
  3. Clearly state that you are requesting information under the Freedom of Information Act.
  4. Label envelope and letter "Freedom of Information Act."
  5. Mail to:
