Educational Classes and Workshop Offerings:

Weight Management Workshop (Active Duty & Beneficiaries) – also known as SHIPSHAPE:
An eight week nutrition and weight management course designed to provide participants with basic information regarding nutrition, stress management, exercise, and behavior modification techniques to lower and maintain body weight and percent body fat. Attendance is open to all DoD beneficiaries, especially anyone who exceeds, or is in danger of exceeding body composition assessment standards. See upcoming schedule (Click Here)

Bariatric Surgery & Nutrition Therapy:

Held twice a month. Registration and location is in the General Surgery Clinic, bldg. 9 (Arrowhead), 1st floor. **Bariatric surgery is NOT authorized for active duty Service members.  For more details on Bariatric Surgery (Click Here)  Nutrition for Bariatric Surgery Presentation OCT 2014

Diabetes:

Diabetes education offered on the 2nd and 3rd Wednesdays each month in conjunction with the Diabetes Self-Management Education Program. Call The Diabetes Institute at 301-319-2872 for registration and location information.

Heart Healthy (Coming Soon):
Held in partnership with the WRNMMC Cardiology Service to educate civilians and military members on how to lower blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood glucose.

Aquatic Exercise Class:
Held every Wednesday and Friday from 1000-1100 in bldg 17 pool. Please contact 301-295-4065.
