Surgical Services


The Directorate of Surgical Services at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Bethesda provides world class inpatient and outpatient surgical care for warriors, active duty and their families, and retired beneficiaries in a Patient and Family Centered Care environment. Surgical Services supports outstanding academic medicine with advanced research, fully accredited residencies and fellowships and destination referral surgical care for the most complex diagnoses and therapies.

The Directorate is comprised of the following departments:
Surgical Services encompasses a comprehensive range of surgical-related specialties and education programs. The Directorate is organized into three Departments and twenty five Services:
