Mission.  The Special Operations Recruiting Battalion (SORB) conducts worldwide in-service recruiting operations to provide the strength for Special Forces, Civil Affairs, Psychological Operations, Special Operations Aviation, Explosive ordnance Disposal, Army Warrant Officers and Airborne Forces; facilitates ARSOF assignments for MAVNI soldiers; synchronizes and deconflicts in-service ARSOF recruiting efforts; and serves as an information conduit between ARSOF community and USAREC for non-prior service recruiting of SOF soldiers.
SF.png Special Forces (SF), also referred to as the legendary Green Berets, is an elite, multi-purpose force for high priority operational targets of strategic importance.  Their linage dates back to more than 200 years of unconventional warfare history, with notable predecessors including the Revolutionary War Swamp Fox Francis Marion, the WWII OSS Jedbourg Teams and Detachment 101 in Burma, as well as the Alamo Scouts.  Since their establishment in 1952, Special Forces soldiers have distinguished themselves in Vietnam (17 Medals of Honor), El Salvador, Panama, Desert Shield/Storm, Haiti, Somalia, Bosnia, and Kosovo.  Most recently, SF has played a critical role in Destroying Taliban/al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, rooting out insurgents in Iraq, training foreign troops to fight terrorists or drug warlords, and crossing the globe to liberate the oppressed.
PSYOP.png PSYOP Soldiers use persuasion to influence perceptions and encourage desired behavior. The cornerstone of MILITARY INFORMATION SUPPORT OPERATIONS (MISO) is truth, credibly presented to convince a foreign audience to cease resistance or take actions favorable to friendly forces. During Desert Storm, the effective use of MISO was a combat multiplier that directly contributed to the surrender of thousands of Iraqi Soldiers. It is clear its effectiveness saved countless coalition and Iraqi lives. PSYOP units also have Soldiers with unique skills. These Soldiers are communicators who provide the commander with the ability to communicate information to large audiences via radio, television, leaflets and loudspeakers. The PSYOP Soldier's language skills, regional orientation and knowledge of communications media provide a means of delivering critical information to host-nation audiences. MISO is a vital part of the broad range of diplomatic, informational, military, and economic (DIME) activities used by the U.S. Government.

The 95th CA BDE (A) has five battalions, the 96th, 97th, 98th, 92nd and the 91st. The 85th CA BDE is under the command of Army Forces Command (FORSCOM). The 85th CA BDE has five battalions, the 80th, 81st, 82nd, 83rd, and 84th. All battalions are responsible for a different AOR.

We provide EOD support to civil authorities for incidents involving military unexploded ordnance, improvised explosive devices, weapons of mass destruction, transportation accidents involving DOD owned or DOD contractor owned munitions, or hazardous explosive items beyond the capability of the requesting civil authorities. Additionally, we present classes on ordnance recognition, bomb search, bomb threat and reporting procedures to military, civilian, and federal authorities. Lastly, we are capable of rapidly deploying as part of a Weapon of Mass Destruction Task Force to defeat weapons of mass destruction directed against the United States and its interests. You’ll be a part of a dynamic team, known as the “Army Bomb Squad”, with a real world mission and world wide operations area. You’ll be in a tight-knit unit with soldiers of the highest mental, moral, and technical abilities who are inventive and self reliant under even the most adverse conditions.
AB.png AIRBORNE MISSION.  All Airborne Units are capable of deploying world wide within 18 hours of notification as a strategic crisis response force, conduct forcible entry parachute assaults of personnel and equipment, secure key objectives for follow-on military operations in support of U.S. national interests, and to fight and win upon arrival for our Nation.
warrant.png Warrant Officers are highly specialized experts and trainers in their career fields. By gaining progressive levels of expertise and leadership, these leaders provide valuable guidance to commanders and organizations in their specialty. Warrant Officers remain single-specialty Officers with career tracks that progress within their field, unlike their Commissioned Officer counterparts who focus on increased levels of command and staff duty positions.
