Enterprise Computing Assumption of Charter Supports Army Technology Modernization

Alexandria, Va. – Mr. Archie Mackie will formally assume the charter as Product Director for Enterprise Computing (PD EC), on October 28 at Fort Belvoir, Va. The PD EC reports to the Project Director, Enterprise Services (PD ES), a program of the Program Executive Officer for Enterprise Information Systems. In this role, Mr. Mackie oversees a portfolio of initiatives that develops, delivers and sustains enterprise information technology (IT) services in support of the Army’s overall network modernization effort. Mr. Mackie has been serving as the PD EC since June 11, 2014.
PD EC is the lead for acquisition of the Army’s cloud initiatives and supports the migration of Army applications and systems to DoD-approved hosting environments. Other PD EC initiatives include the development of an Army Software Marketplace roadmap to support the Army’s Common Operating Environment, and providing round the clock Army Enterprise Service Desk support services for all LandWarNet IT service requests, issues and inquiries to Army installations, organizations and enterprise services.
“There is no one better qualified to lead the Product Director Enterprise Computing organization than Archie Mackie,” said Mr. Jeremy Hiers, the Project Director for Enterprise Services. “PD EC is at the center of several vital drivers of the Army’s network and technology modernization efforts, such as the future of cloud and application and system modernization and migration. Mr. Mackie’s vast experience, knowledge, and strategic vision will continue to successfully guide his team and the Army.”
The PD ES, established September 2012, delivers secure, modern, agile, effective and efficient information technology enterprise services that enable end-to-end communication, collaboration, messaging, content management and application hosting across the Army. The PD ES program suite includes the Product Director (PD) offices for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Enterprise Services and Systems (PD ALTESS); Enterprise Computing (PD EC); and Enterprise Content Collaboration and Messaging (PD EC2M).

PEO EIS assumes Logistics Information Systems charter

An official ceremony was held Oct. 9 at Fort Lee, Virginia, to recognize the Assumption of Charter for the Logistics Information Systems (LIS) program. Mr. Ricky Daniels assumed the product director charter in an event hosted by COL Harry Culclasure, Project Manager for the Army Enterprise Systems Integration Program (AESIP).
Product Director LIS provides the lifecycle management of all functional and technical aspects of current Army logistics information systems consistent with Department of Defense policies. These systems include the automation and sustainment of ammunition, maintenance, supply, property accountability, and finance. PD LIS manages a suite of Army logistics programs and products that provide key logistics information technology enablers in bridging to the single Army logistics enterprise.
“The transition of PD LIS program management responsibilities from the Software Engineering Center Tactical Logistics Directorate to the Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS) started over a year ago,” said COL Culclasure at the ceremony. “Despite this being the fourth realignment for the PD LIS group since 2000, the team has managed seamless operations without fail for its 160,000 users. Therefore, we did not want to change anything about the group; just the alignment, in order to continue these accomplishments.”
Mr. Daniels, a retired Army colonel, is a graduate of the Air Defense Artillery Basic Course, Infantry Advance Course, Systems Automation Course, Material Acquisition Management Course, Technical Management Course, Command and General Staff College, and the Acquisition Program Manager’s Course. As he accepted the charter, Mr. Daniels expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to lead the program to continued success.
