Brown Drive Closure Begins 1 May
04/29/2016
Last summer we began a series of upgrades designed to carry WRNMMC into the future and with growth comes new challenges. In an effort to improve the Medical Center’s utilities and services to allow the Medical Center to expand upward, as new floors are added and new clinics are created, this summer, Naval Support Activity Bethesda’s Brown Drive will be closed beginning Monday, May 2, 2016 for a period of several months.
During the closure patients and staff will have to adjust their driving habits on the installation when coming to work, attending an appointment or just visiting friends or family. If you are traveling to any location near the America Bldg. (Bldg. 19) for outpatient care, Bldg. 54 Staff Parking Garage and Bldg. 63 Patient Parking garage please enter through the North Gate. If you are going to any location near Eagle Bldg. Main medical entrance with flags (Bldg. 10), Bldg. 55 Patient Parking Garage and/or the NICoE please enter through the South Gate (Metro gate).
Detour signs will be located throughout the base and staff will be available to assist with directions.
While this may be an inconvenience to some we would like to take the time to let you know what to look forward to when this project is complete. The utilities project that began last summer is moving over Brown Drive in order to increase capacity. These improvements will take time, but rest assured that we will endeavor to reduce the impact to you, our patients and staff, during this time.
