DARPA’s Biological Technologies Office (BTO) is hosting a Proposers Day to provide information to potential proposers on the objectives of the upcoming Safe Genes program. The program aims to help unlock the potential of advanced gene editing technologies by developing a set of biosafety and biosecurity tools to address potential risks of this rapidly advancing field.
The Proposers Day will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016, from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM ET at the United States Institute of Peace, 2301 Constitution Avenue, Washington, DC 20037. Advance registration is required. The registration deadline is Friday, September 23, 2016, at 12:00 PM ET or when capacity is reached, whichever comes first. Please register at: http://www.sa-meetings.com/SafeGenesProposersDay. There will be no on-site registration.
DARPA hosts Proposers Days to promote teaming arrangements between researchers; provide potential performers with information on whether and how they might respond to the Government’s research and development solicitations; and to increase efficiency in proposal preparation and evaluation. Therefore, Proposers Days are open only to registered potential proposers.
Non-US citizens are required to submit a DARPA Form 60 “Foreign National Visit Request.” This form and submission instructions will be provided in the registration confirmation email. The completed form must be uploaded to the registration website no later than 12:00 PM ET on Friday, September 23, 2016.
