The Coast Guard Foundation, enabled by the generosity of the United States
Automobile Association (USAA), sponsored eight $1,000 scholarships for
Academic Year 2016 – 2017 to help offset the costs of higher education for
enlisted Coast Guard reservists or their dependents.
The Foundation for Coast Guard History (FCGH) has announced the
solicitation of nominations for its annual unit and individual
awards program for 2015.
The following members are eligible for advancement or change in to fill Selected Reserve vacancies 1 October 2016.
CG PSC will continue to implement a Reserve Enlisted High Year Tenure (R-HYT) Panel
in 2017. Personnel who exceed their respective Professional Growth Point (PGP)
identified in paragraph 2 below will become a R-HYT candidate.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). The observance
offers the opportunity to raise awareness, highlight resources
available to support both victims of domestic violence and families in
need, renew efforts to build healthy relationships, and promote
offender accountability. The theme for this year’s DVAM is “Speak Up:
Be Part of the Solution.”
This message announces the kickoff of the AY17 Reserve assignment season and provides important guidelines and
information for Reserve junior enlisted personnel (E6 and below) competing for assignment, command cadre, supervisors
and Reserve personnel at large.
In an effort to provide greater support to Coast Guard
men, women and their families, CGMA announces that the
annual dollar limit for the Supplemental Education Grant (SEG)
has been increased from 350 to 500 dollars.
“Not In My Coast Guard” (NIMCG) SAPR summits: The former SAPR MCO staff
is conducting the final round of NIMCG SAPR summits during the summer of 2016.
The Office of Work-Life, Coast Guard Investigative Service (CGIS), Legal
representatives, healthcare providers, local Sexual Assault Response Coordinators
(SARCs), and Victim Advocates (VAs) have collaborated to provide sexual assault
prevention training, reinforce bystander intervention, and expand on the Culture
of Respect throughout the Coast Guard.
