DoD/VA Program Coordination Office

Mandated by Public Law 97-174, the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) have a long history of health care resource sharing.

The DoD and the VA are committed to taking care of our nation’s Service members and Veterans. Coordination between our departments is critical to effectively transfer essential medical and administrative information, as well as to ensure transition to civilian life. The collaborative federal partnership between DoD and VA has resulted in increased integration of health care services to military Service members and Veterans.

We explore sharing opportunities at every level ranging from a local facility-level Joint Incentive Fund to enterprise-level efforts. The opportunities for sharing are vast and are implemented where they align with both Departments strategic plans, make good business sense and serve the needs of our beneficiaries.
