About the Office of Small Business Programs

Welcome to the Department of the Navy's (DON) Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP) website. The mission of OSBP is to promote acquisition opportunities where small business can best support the needs of our Sailors and Marines. We owe it to these men and women to provide them with the systems, innovation, products and tools necessary to enable them to accomplish their mission and return home safely. We also owe it to the taxpayer to acquire these products and services at affordable and responsible prices. It is our hope that through this website you will gain information that will assist you in competing for those opportunities. You will find links to all of the DON's major buying activities and it is there that you will get to know the business of the Navy and Marine Corps.

Department of the Navy Small Business Program Vision

To influence change and create a culture of small business inclusiveness across the Department of the Navy.

Department of the Navy Small Business Program Mission

The DON Small Business Enterprise fosters acquisition opportunities where small business can best support Sailors, Marines and their families through policy, advocacy, counseling and training.

The Importance of Small Business

Small businesses, including Service Disabled Veteran-Owned small businesses (SDVOSB), Historically Underutilized Business zone (HUBZone) small businesses, Small Disadvantaged businesses (SDB), and Women-Owned small business (WOSB) concerns, are a vital part of our economy and help to keep our country the strongest in the world. The Department of the Navy (DON) is committed to our country’s small business community having the maximum opportunities to participate in the Navy’s acquisition program both as prime contractors and subcontractors. It is with this commitment that the Office of the Secretary of the Navy Small Business Programs Strategic Business Plan was written – recognizing that success is achieved with the necessary resources, attitude and environment.
