Due to the government shutdown, furlough days and CHIPS website security upgrades, the publication of the October-December 2013 was delayed. Since we are well into January, we decided to publish the January-March edition. It is the first time in nearly 32 years of publication that we have missed publishing an edition. We have missed engaging with our readers on Navy and Defense Department IT news. Many of our readers called or wrote to ask about our publication schedule, and we thank you for your interest in CHIPS magazine.
It hasn’t been an easy couple of months, but what has been most striking to me during this turbulent time has been the resilience of the Navy-Marine Corps team — civilian and military members. Naval personnel met challenges with grace and determination, and we were all eager to get back to the critical missions of the DON and DoD working side-by-side. On this page you can see examples of the national security and humanitarian assistance/disaster relief missions that the Navy-Marine Corps team perform daily.
I don’t know about you but I’m glad to see the last of 2013. We are all back on the job, grateful, privileged and honored to serve as part of the Navy-Marine Corps team. Happy New Year!
