Command Sergeant Major Mason L. Bryant

Command Sergeant Major Mason L. Bryant was born in Evansville, Indiana, and graduated from Mt Vernon High School in 1990. A career Infantryman, he entered the U.S Army in June of 1990 at Ft Benning, Georgia, where he completed Basic Training, Advanced Individual Training and Airborne School. He is married to Mrs. Simona Bryant and they have three children, Mason, Benjamin, and Elisabetta. They have lived and served in the Vicenza Military Community for 12 years.

During his 26 years of service, CSM Bryant has held numerous leadership positions such as Team Leader, Squad Leader, Drill Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, First Sergeant, Battalion Operations Sergeant Major and Battalion Command Sergeant Major.

CSM Bryant has served in many different types of Infantry units, both in the United States and in Italy. His assignments include: 4-15 Infantry, Fort Knox, Kentucky; 3-325th Airborne Battalion Combat Team, Vicenza, Italy; 1-509th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Polk, Louisiana; 2-54th Infantry, Fort Benning, Georgia;  HHC, 173d Airborne Infantry Brigade, Vicenza, Italy; 1st Battalion, Airborne, 508th Infantry, Vicenza, Italy; 1st Battalion, Airborne, 503rd Infantry, Vicenza, Italy; Headquarters Support Company, Southern European Task Force, Vicenza, Italy; 1-6th Infantry Regiment, Fort Bliss, Texas; 2nd Battalion 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; 2-58th Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia and the United States Army Africa/Southern European Task Force in Vicenza, Italy . He has deployed in support of Operation Support Hope, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

His military education includes: Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, Pathfinder School, Battle Staff, First Sergeants course, Drill Sergeant School and he is a graduate of class 60 of the United States Army Sergeant Majors Academy.

His awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star Medal with “V” device, Bronze Star Medal (2nd award), the Meritorious Service Medal (7th award), the Army Commendation Medal with “V” device (2nd award), the Army commendation Medal (3rd award), the Army Achievement Medal (7th award), the Good Conduct Medal (8th award), National Defense Service Medal (with Bronze Star), GWOTEM with Arrowhead, GWOSTM, Afghan Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (with numeral 4), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon(6th award), the Kosovo NATO Medal, the Afghan NATO Medal, the Humanitarian award, the Joint Meritorious Unit award, the Valorous Unit Award, the Meritorious Unit Citation, the Army Superior Unit Award, the Master Parachutist badge with Bronze Star, Pathfinder Badge, Drill Sergeant Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Italian Parachutist Badge, Hungarian Parachutist Badge, Canadian Parachutist Badge, and the Belgian Parachutist Badge.

He has a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in History and is a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club. He also is a recipient of the Order of St Maurice.
