The TRICARE Nurse Advice is a standardized benefit, which makes health care advice available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. By calling this toll-free service, you can either speak with a TRICARE Nurse or listen to more than 400 recorded messages about a variety of health topics stored in the Audio Health Library. While the TRICARE Nurse Advice line in not an emergency service or a pre-authorization for care, it is a convenient way to get answers to a variety of health care questions.

The TRICARE Nurse Advice is a part of your TRICARE benefit, and it is available to anyone who is eligible for medical care in our facilities. Call the TRICARE Nurse Advice when you need to make decisions about surgery, tests, medical treatments, or managing a chronic illness. You can also talk with a nurse about preventing illnesses and improving your familys health. You have the option to remain anonymous if you are simply seeking advice. However, if you would like the nurse to fax the resulting information to your local medical facility in order to initiate follow-up care, you will need to supply the nurse with personal information.
