Command Sgt. Maj. Timothy N. Johnson

Command Sgt. Maj. Timothy Johnson entered the Army in September 1985, where he completed One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Georgia. After 2 years in the Army Reserve, he entered active duty as an 11C Indirect Fire Infantryman in September 1987, and was assigned to 4th Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division at Fort Ord, California, where he deployed to Panama for Operation "Just Cause." In March 1992, Command Sgt. Maj. Johnson was reassigned to the Germany-based 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, Rose Barracks, Germany, where he deployed to Macedonia for six months as part of the United Nations Protection Force. In July 1995, he was reassigned to the 2nd Combined Arms Battalion, 189th Infantry Brigade, Fort Bragg, North Carolina (AC/RC). In July 1998, Command Sgt. Maj. Johnson was assigned to 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia. In April 2000, he was reassigned to the 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, where he deployed in March 2004 to Afghanistan in support of OEF-5. In June 2005, Command Sgt. Maj. Johnson was selected for attendance to the Sergeants Major Course Class 56. In June 2006, he was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Casey, Korea. In July 2007, Command Sgt. Maj. Johnson was assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where he deployed to Iraq in support of OIF 07-09. After returning from Iraq, he was appointed as the Command Sergeant Major of 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where he deployed to Afghanistan in support of OEF 10-11. In August 2013, Command Sgt. Maj. Johnson was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 58th Infantry Regiment (Infantry OSUT), of the 198th Infantry Brigade at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he served until relinquishing responsibility in October 2013. In October 2013, he assumed responsibility of the 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, where he relinquished that responsibility in March 2016.

Command Sgt. Maj. Johnson has held all duty positions associated with being an 11C and senior noncommissioned officer positions, to include Squad leader, Section Sergeant, Fire Direction Chief, Senior Section Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Platoon Leader, Observer/Controller, First Sergeant, Operations Sergeant Major, Battalion Command Sergeant Major, and Brigade Command Sergeant Major.

Command Sgt. Maj. Johnson's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (2OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (4OLC), Army Commendation Medal (2OLC), Army Achievement Medal (3OLC), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal (w/Bronze star), Armed Forces Service Medal, NATO Medal (2nd award), United Nations Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 4), Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 5), Army Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal (9th award), Iraq Campaign Medal (w/Campaign star), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (w/2 campaign stars), Korean Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Valorous Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Citation (1OLC), Ranger Tab, Senior Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Air Assault Badge, Egyptian Parachutist Badge, Combat Infantryman’s Badge (2nd award), and the Expert Infantryman’s Badge.

Command Sgt. Maj. Johnson's military schools include all levels of the NCOPDS, First Sergeant Course, Infantry Mortar Leaders Course, Rappel Master Course, Ranger Course, Jumpmaster Course, Pathfinder Course, Air Assault Course and the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Course Class 56.
