Function
Reviews investigative files which include adverse or potentially adverse information on all active and reserve Naval officers selected for officer personnel actions requiring approval by the Secretary of Defense, the President, or confirmation by the Senate.  The Security section serves as the principal liaison with Department of Defense Investigative agencies, the Department of the Navy Central adjudication Facility, OPNAV, and the major Navy commands in personnel reliability, suitability, and security clearance matters.
