ALTERNATIVE PERMIT APPLICATION PROCESSING PROCEDURES FOR
ACTIVITIES IN RESPONSE TO THE HURRICANE HERMINE
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District has initiated alternative permitting procedures in response to conditions resulting from Hurricane Hermine. These alternate procedures will be utilized for a period of 6 months (until 2 March 2017). Information Package for Prospective NWP Users
On November 24, 2014, NOAA Fisheries (NMFS) Headquarters issued
a biological opinion (BiOp) on the 2012 Nationwide Permits (NWPs). This BiOp evaluated the NWPs for potential effects to federally listed threatened and endangered species under NMFS purview. One of the protective measures in that BiOp
states that Corps districts will develop information packages for prospective
users of the NWPs. These packages are
meant to help NWP users comply with NWP General Condition 18 which addresses
endangered species. Jacksonville
District's information package has been placed in the Regulatory
Sourcebook on our District website, and will be useful for
consultants as well as applicants.
