Employment with Seattle District

The Seattle District is continually seeking to fill a wide variety of professional, technical, skilled and administrative support positions.

Positions are available in the fields of engineering, project management, science, trades and crafts. Specific engineering disciplines include civil, mechanical, electrical and hydraulics. Scientist positions include geologists, hydrologists, biologists, environmental resources specialists and archeologists.

Other occupational areas we employe include contract specialists, real estate specialists, administrative support specialists, park rangers, accountants, mechanics, electricians and planners.

Staff members are involved in every aspect of project planning, investigation, design, technical review, construction and operation. District projects and staff have received national recognition for projects ranging from natural resources management to military project management and design.

District employees work in locations across the Northwest, including Seattle, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Idaho and Montana. Employees seeking travel opportunities can compete for Corps positions at various overseas locations, including Europe and Asia.

Applying for positions with the federal government requires some patience because of the many rules that must be followed to ensure fairness and selection of the most qualified applicants. Application procedures also vary somewhat depending on the type of position for which you are applying.
