The
Columbia River Treaty (CRT, Treaty), signed by Canada and the U.S. in 1961, was
developed to coordinate flood control and optimize electrical energy
production in the Columbia Basin.
This web site
provides an overview of the Treaty and the supporting CRT
organization, along with information on Treaty projects and operations,
and links of interest to the CRT. It is jointly sponsored by the CRTs U.S. and Canadian entities, maintained by the Engineering Committee of the Permanent
Engineering Board, hosted and maintained by the
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Northwestern Division, as well as maintained with input from Bonneville Power Administration.
