Lucas Park, located on the north side of the lake is quickly becoming
a popular camping area. Facilities include 104 developed campsites of which 16
have electric and water, 54 have electric hookups. Facilities available include
a reservable group camp, a reservable day use shelter, one shower building, a
sanitary dump station, a playground, a boat ramp, a designated swim beach,
handicap fishing dock, and numerous picnic areas and vault toilets. Fees are
$18 for a water and electric site, $16 for an electric site, and $12 for a
basic site. Our recreational season runs from May 1st to September
30th. There is an $8 utility fee charged during the non-recreational
season (October 1st to April 30th) at sites that provide
electrical hookups. Standard sites without utility hookups are free.
Group Camp Area
This reservable group camp area currently consists of 20 campsites. There
are 15 campsites that consist of electrical hook-ups and 5 campsites are basic.
This area includes a playground, large ground fire ring, upright grill, group
shelter (20' X 36'), a sand volleyball court, picnic tables, and a water borne
facility (cold water only) with sinks and flush toilets.
Customers (not visitors) utilizing the camping facilities at Lucas Park will
be entitled to complementary passes which will allow them free access to Corps
of Engineers managed boat ramps presently under the "day use fee
system". These passes may be obtained at the Park Attendant station.
Check-in time for the group camp is 2:00 p.m. and checkout the day of departure
is 2:00 p.m. Gates to the group camp area will not be unlocked earlier than
2:00 p.m. Customers reserving the area and wishing to utilize it prior to 2:00
p.m. will need to make arrangements through the project office by calling
