FY 16 and FY 17 accomplishments

  • Per the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2007, a draft Agreement with the Non-Federal Sponsor (NFS) was prepared to increase the annual federal payment to reflect the updated cost of operation and maintenance (O&M) of the Harbor, and to revise the Agreement to include terms that regularly revise such payments for inflation. This Agreement is currently being negotiated and, when approved, such payments (appropriated in FY2014) will be made to the NFS for its continued O&M of the Harbor.

ISSUES AND OTHER INFORMATION

  • The Santa Cruz Port District is the NFS.
  • This project did not receive funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), Title IV, Pub. L. No. 111-5, 123 Stat. 115, Feb. 17, 2009.
  • The Corps last dredged the harbor in 1985. At that time, the Corps purchased a dredge for the NFS. In return, the NFS became responsible for maintenance dredging until July 1, 2013.  An Economic Analysis and revised MOA reflecting current O&M costs have been submitted to HQ for review.
