From I-80 take exit 244, take Dubuque Street north 3 miles to West Overlook Road turn east and proceed 1/4 mile to the park entrance. Follow the signs once in the park to the desired area.
From I-380: Take Exit 4 (North Liberty). Turn left (East) onto to Penn Street. Take Penn Street all the way east to Dubuque Street. Turn right onto Dubuque Street and go South toward Iowa City. Approximately 5 miles South of North Liberty you will see a large brown sign that says, "Coralville Dam". Turn left and follow the entrance road to the park.

Take I-380 to Exit 4 North Liberty, turn East onto Penn Street; follow Penn St to N Front Street. North Front St turns into Mehaffey Bridge Road (aka. County Rd F28). After crossing Mehaffey Bridge, turn south onto the entrance road to Sugar Bottom Day Use Area and Campground.

Take I-380 to exit 10; turn east onto 120th Street; follow 120th Street to Curtis Bridge Road; turn south; follow Curtis Bridge Road to the Stop sign. Turn East onto Sandy Beach Road and follow the Corps of Engineers signs for Sandy Beach Campground. The entrance to the Sandy Beach boat ramp and swimming beach are past the campground entrance. These two areas are not accessible from the campground.
Lake View OHV Area (Managed by the Iowa DNR)
Take I-80 to Exit 246. Drive north on Hwy. 1 to Solon, Iowa. Take Hwy F16 (also called Main Street) west to County Road W6E. W6E will veer north follow to 140th Street turn west. The loading and unloading area is located at the corner of 140th St and W6E. Click here to go to the Iowa DNR website .
Dam Complex Area to Sugar Bottom Areas
Take West Overlook Road to Dubuque Street; turn right on Dubuque St for 3 miles. Turn right onto N. Front Street (Sugar Bottom sign at intersection). Go straight at the 4-way stop sign. (This is County Road F28). Go 3 miles to the Sugar Bottom entrance road. (There will be a brown Corps sign). Follow entrance road 1.4 miles to the campground entrance station.
Sugar Bottom Campground to Sandy Beach Campground
Turn left onto County Road F28 (Mehaffey Bridge Road) drive approx. 3 miles to Penn Street; turn west and proceed to Hwy. 965. Turn north on Highway 965. Go approx. 6.5 miles to Stop sign. Then turn east onto 120th Street. Go 1.5 miles to Stop sign at Curtis Bridge Road. Turn right and go 1 mile to Stop sign. Turn left onto Sandy Beach Road for approx. 2 miles veer left and stay on Sandy Beach Road for 1 mile to Sandy Beach Campground.
Visitor Center and Administration Office:
From I-380: Take exit 4 (North Liberty). Turn left (East) onto to Penn Street. Take Penn Street all the way east to Dubuque Street. Turn right onto Dubuque Street and go South toward Iowa City. Approximately 5 miles you will see a large brown sign that says, "Coralville Dam". Turn left and follow the entrance road all the way through the park and across the dam. The Visitor Center and Office is located at the top of the hill where the flags are located.
From I-80: Take exit 244 (Dubuque Street); go North about 3 miles on Dubuque Street. Turn Right at the large brown sign that says, "Coralville Dam". This is the entrance road. Follow the roadway all the way across the dam. The Visitor Center is located at the top of the hill where the flags are located.
