Draft EA for levee repairs near Langdon, MO available for public comment

A draft environmental assessment for repairs to Missouri River levee unit L-550 near Langdon in Atchison County, Missouri is currently available for public review. The draft EA evaluates the environmental impacts of repairing damage along a drainage ditch between L-550 and Rock Creek caused by high precipitation events. Repairs are needed to prevent seepage of levee foundation material from L-550 into the drainage ditch. Comments must be postmarked or received no later than October 27, 2016. [Read More]

Public meeting scheduled on Randolph, Nebraska flood risk management feasibility study

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in cooperation with the city of Randolph, will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 5:30-8p.m. at the City Auditorium, 119 North Main Street in Randolph, Nebraska. The purpose of the meeting is to provide an update on a flood risk management study and gather input on the draft feasibility report and integrated environmental assessment. Public meetings scheduled to discuss Cherry Creek Dam studies

Three public meetings to provide an update on the status of two studies taking place at Cherry Creek Dam are scheduled for the week of September 20. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host meetings to provide a status update on alternatives under consideration to address risks from extreme storm events associated with Cherry Creek Dam including a study to modify the dam’s water control plan. Public meeting scheduled on Cottonwood Springs Lake and Cold Brook Lake draft Master Plan

The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold a public meeting on Thursday, Aug. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a brief presentation at 6:15 p.m. at the Mueller Civic Center Annex room, 801 South 6th Street, Hot Springs, South Dakota 57747. Dakota Access Pipeline final EA and FONSI released for ND Section 408 crossings

Omaha District Commander Col. John W. Henderson has signed the Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) Project. The FONSI summarizes the environmental effects evaluation that occurred during development of the draft environmental assessment and the decision to grant Section 408 permissions that allow the Project to cross 2.83 miles of federal flowage easements at the Missouri River upstream of Lake Sakakawea in Williams County and approximately 0.21 miles of federally-owned property at Lake Oahe in Morton and Emmons Counties, North Dakota. The proposed Project would connect the Bakken and Three Forks crude oil production areas in North Dakota to existing infrastructure in Illinois. [Read More]
