Washington - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers yesterday delivered to Congress its Fiscal Year 2014 (FY14) work plans for the Army Civil Works program. President Obama on January 17 signed into law the Energy and Water Development Appropriations Act, 2014, Division D of Public Law 113-76, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2014, providing $5.467 billion in FY14 appropriations for the Army Civil Works program.
Washington - The President’s Budget for fiscal year 2015 includes $4.561 billion in gross discretionary funding for the Civil Works program of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which is offset in part by a proposal to cancel $28 million in unobligated carryover of funds previously appropriated.

Due to the dumping of Munitions of Explosive Concern (MEC) into the Atlantic Ocean after World War II, screening baskets were necessary to prevent any MEC from making their way onto the beaches of New Jersey.
