Information

Mud Mountain Dam is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers flood control dam and recreation facility on the White River near Mt. Rainier in Washington State. Visitors to the facility can view the dam, picnic, hike, bike or ride their horses in a scenic woodland setting.  For a printable hiking map, click here.

Directions

From Auburn: Driving time 40 minutes
1. Take Hwy 164 East to Enumclaw
2. Go through Enumclaw and turn left onto Hwy 410 East
3. Go about 6 miles and turn right onto Mud Mountain Road
4. Go 2.5 miles to Mud Mountain Dam Project

From Bellevue: Driving time 60 minutes
1. Take Hwy 405 South to Hwy 169 Renton
2. Hwy 169 South to Enumclaw Hwy 164
3. Take Hwy 164 East to Enunclaw
4. Go through Enumclaw and turn left onto Hwy 410 East
5. Go about 6 miles and turn right onto Mud Mountain Road
6. Go 2.5 miles to Mud Mountain Dam Project

From Issaquah:  Driving time 60 minutes
1. Take Hwy 90 West to 405 South
2. Take Hwy 405 South to Hwy 169 Renton
3. Hwy 169 South to Enumclaw Hwy 164
4. Go through Enumclaw and turn left onto Hwy 410 East
5. Go about 6 miles and turn right onto Mud Mountain Road
6. Go 2.5 miles to Mud Mountain Dam Project

From Olympia: Driving time 60 minutes
1. Take I-5 North to Hwy. 512 to Puyallup
2. Hwy 512 to 410 East to Sumner
3. Hwy 410 East through Bonney Lake, Buckley and Enumclaw
4. In Enumclaw stay on Hwy 410 East
5. Go about 6 miles and turn right onto Mud Mountain Road
6. Go 2.5 miles to Mud Mountain Dam Project

From Puyallup:  Driving time 36 minutes
1. Take Hwy 167 East to Sumner
2. Hwy 410 East through Bonney Lake, Buckley and Enumclaw
3. In Enumclaw stay on Hwy 410 East
4. Go about 6 miles and turn right onto Mud Mountain Road
5. Go 2.5 miles to Mud Mountain Dam Project

From Seattle: Driving time 60 minutes
1. Take I-5 South to Hwy 18 East,
2. From Hwy 18 take the Auburn/Enumclaw exit
3. At Auburn take Hwy 164 East to Enumclaw
4. Go through Enumclaw and turn left onto Hwy 410 East
5. Go about 6 miles and turn right onto Mud Mountain Road
6. Go 2.5 miles to Mud Mountain Dam Project

From Tacoma: Driving time 60 minutes.
1. Take Hwy 167 to 410 East to Sumner
2. Hwy 410 East through Bonney Lake, Buckley and Enumclaw
3. In Enumclaw stay on Hwy 410 East
4. Go about 6 miles and turn right onto Mud Mountain Road
5. Go 2.5 miles to Mud Mountain Dam Project

Park Hours for 2016 (subject to change):

Jan  2 - Apr 15        9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Closed Weekends)

Apr 16 - May 13      9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  (Open Weekends)

May 14 - Sep 11     9 a.m. to 8 p.m.  (Open Weekends)

Sep 12 - Sep 30     9 a.m to 4 p.m.   (Open Weekends)

Oct  1 -  Dec 31      9 a.m to  4 p.m.  ( Closed Weekends)

Wading Pool Hours of Operation:

Monday 1:00 pm - 7:30 pm.

Tuesday - Sunday 9:00 am - 7:30 pm.

 

Mud Mountain Dam park is open 7 days a week  Monday - Sunday  9:00 am - 8:00 pm.

The park staff will start closing the park 30 minutes prior to the posted closing time.

Please keep this in mind when making arrangements to visit the recreation area.
