Mobile Apps Released for Records Management and Personally Identifiable Information
By DON CIO - May 4, 2016
Two new mobile apps that provide required Navy General Military Training (GMT) on Records Management (RM) and Privacy and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) Awareness became available April 19. These are the latest in an impressive array of apps developed by the Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Systems' Sea Warrior Program (PMW 240).

The Records Management app provides training on general recordkeeping methods and responsibilities, and educates users on eliminating hardcopy records in favor of electronic records. Guidance and best practices are intended to promote compliance with Federal regulations for Records Management.

The PII app is a training and resource tool that is intended to increase privacy awareness and improve the safeguarding of personal information. In addition to the basic training module, it includes a separate refresher module that is geared to those who have caused a PII breach.
