  • Contractors working on the new forebay wall at the Lockport Lock and Dam Upper Pool project use a bulldozer to spread a mixture of cement, water and crushed rock used in creating roller-compacted concrete (RCC). In total, the wall will contain approximately 80,000 cubic yards of RCC and will take nearly 4,000 off-road dump trucks to place the material.

  • At Lockport Lock and Dam in Lockport, Illinois, contractors are working around the clock to build a 1,500-foot rollercompacted concrete wall as part of the final stage of Lockport’s multi-year major rehabilitation project.
