USACE Libraries

Some of the Northwestern Division Technical Libraries are open to the public, although hours and services provided vary from library to library. In some cases, making an appointment may be required. Contact the library in your area before your visit.

In most cases, members of the public and staff from other government agencies are free to use the collections of Northwestern Division libraries during their visit. Some USACE materials are considered sensitive and access to them may require a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request or legal approval through the USACE Office of Counsel.

Some items may be available to check out via Interlibrary Loan by working with a requesting library. Some limited reference assistance is provided at most division libraries.

Headquarters Library

Library services for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are provided by the Humphreys Engineer Center Support Activity (HECSA) Library. It is one of many libraries that make up the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Library Program. HECSA Library also serves the Institute for Water Resources (IWR) and the 249th Engineer Battalion (Prime Power).  The general public is welcome to make use of our catalog and services, but most content is licensed only for our customers. Links to these services do not constitute endorsement by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
