Departing Lithuanian Defense Minister, Rasa Jukneviciene, presents a Lithuanian military decoration Medal of Merit to RADM Mark Montgomery, U.S. European Command deputy director for Plans, Policy and Strategy, for his commitment to US-Lithuanian military cooperation during his assignment at USEUCOM. Montgomery departs EUCOM in January to take command of the George Washington Carrier Strike Group in Japan. He will be succeeded by RADM Patrick Piercey who is coming from the Joint Staff at the Pentagon.
