JFK 50th
JFK 50th and the Army Corps of Engineers
Nov. 22, 1963, marked the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. This anniversary had special meaning for the Army Corps of Engineers Southwestern Division, headquartered close to the assassination site in downtown Dallas, Texas, and its Districts throughout the region. The Kennedy years marked a time of Building Strong for the Army Corps of Engineers Southwestern Division region and for America, and in these articles, our Division looks back at the fall of 1963.
